It was a privilege for Adaptive Mobility to attend the Pat Summitt 5th Annual Dementia Symposium, which took place from May 2-3, 2024, at the Knoxville Convention Center. With a strong emphasis on both pharmaceutical and non-pharmacological management options, this event brought together professionals and a wide range of specialists to exchange knowledge and information on Dementia.
Presentation on Occupational Therapy’s Role in Driving and Dementia
Susie Touchinsky, an accomplished occupational therapy (OT) specialist, had the honor of speaking at the conference on behalf of Adaptive Mobility. Her talk, “OT’s Role in Driving & Dementia,” sought to increase knowledge of how cognitive changes affect a person’s ability to drive when they have dementia.
The evaluation process, useful tactics, and how Driver Rehabilitation OT professionals may help patients and their families make decisions relating to driving were the main topics of Susie’s presentation.
